Reconstituted, the backlit photographic artwork references haphazard consumption of incessant online images and how approaches to documenting and capturing cultural encounters are yet still governed by ‘rules of practice’ of the archive – its hierarchies and topographies, omissions and deletions. Both artworks investigate the dominance of the male body in the history of art, while also examining the contemporary proposition of the online mix of low and high forms of culture, found online and captured on a smart phone.
